A Method
That Makes Recall Permanent
Studies of how memory
works reveal that when you retrieve and use a piece of information at specific
intervals,
you remember it for a longer period of time. In the Pimsleur System, the
information you need is repeated at precisely the right time for you to
retain it. These intervals become longer and longer until you remember the
information without being reminded at all. Known as Graduated
Interval Recall, this timed recycling of information after gradually
longer intervals, moves your new knowledge from short- to long-term memory
with the least possible work. What you learned becomes a permanent part
of your long term memory.
Another unique part of this program is that you work on your
core vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation
all at once. This is called Organic Learning. You'll model your pronunciation
after native speakers who talk to you in the audio sessions.
