ambienAmbien Review: Trip out with Ambien!

There have been some really good things said about Ambien; even the TV commercials make me feel sleepy and comforted. The images of people resting effortlessly on beautiful moonlit evenings makes me want to take Ambien even if I didn’t need it! But how well does Ambien actually work?

Will you really feel like those people on the commercials or will your experience be much different? Well, from what I have learned, taking Ambien seems to be a lot like playing Russian Roulette, some people walk away feeling fine, and some have a really bad night!

Ambien is one of the most famous sleep aids on the market and it really has made a difference in peoples’ lives. But will it work for you? Ambien works with neurotransmitters in your brain and it targets a specific transmitter to help reduce activity in part of your brain. The reduced activity will help your brain be at ease and will help you fall asleep.

The science is sound, but the fact is that this stuff just does not work for everyone. Medicine that affects the brain can have very different effects on different brains and you should always do your research on these types of products before getting a prescription. Well, I wanted to try Ambien, but I decided to see what other people had to say before talking to my doctor. I have never been so entertained by reading customer reviews. Some of the people seemed like they were commenting about their most recent acid trip rather than their experience with Ambien.

One person talked about waking up to see a cave that had opened up at the foot of her bed and she also got so sick that she vomited repeatedly. She also said that her cousin had taken the pills and had to go to the ER because she kept seeing people that were not there and could not stop screaming. Now I don’t know if that merits a trip to the ER, but that is some scary stuff!

Another man talked about how when he took Ambien, he saw people floating around defying gravity and he saw clones of his friend and his dog. He said that the hallucinations seemed so real that he could not be talked out of them.

I don’t know if these kinds of review make me want to stay away from Ambien or not. It sounds like fun! But if hallucinating is not your thing, maybe you should look elsewhere for your sleep aid.

Ambien has a nasty reputation as being habit forming and once again it seems like it depends on the individual, some people just become addicted easier than others. For example, my grandpa smoked his whole life but one day just decided to stop and never smoked again, but some people try to quit smoking their lives and never succeed. Well, some people become extremely dependant on Ambien and some don’t. I read reviews from people that had to take Ambien every night or they just could not get any sleep at all. Seems risky to me.

Ambien could work for you. It also could give you hallucinations and a habit that is hard to kick.

If you want a sleep aid that does work and is backed by a 100% satisfaction guarantee, try one of the products listed below!

Ambien, mixed review
There are alot of different reviews about Ambien, both good and bad.

In my personal experience, Ambien has been the only sleep medicine that has worked for me. I fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up rested the following day. I have even taken it around 4 am and woke up at 7 am and felt just fine as if i slept all night. I have tried many prescription meds and over the counter sleep aids and none work as well as Ambien for me.

However, there are side effects that can be dangerous. Not everyone get the side effects but some do. I have had some crazy experiences with Ambien.

I have woken up to a bunch of laundry neatly folded on my couch and my house being spotless. I have also woke up with plates, cups, eaten leftover food on my nightstand. I don't remember doing any of it.
My friends tell me i will text message them and i also leave voicemails sometimes in the middle of the night and i have absolutely no memory of them. I have found text conversations on my cell phone that i dont remember having.
Yet, the next morning I feel as if i slept all night. I fall asleep, then wake up the next morning refreshed, so in my mind i slept all night, but the evidence shows crazy things happen sometimes.

One night, i thought i saw a ghost at the foot of my bed, it was an old hunchback lady wearing a white dress, she put something down on my bed and walked away towards my closet.(crazy, i know)
There was also a night where i got up, went downstairs and started to wash my dishes, then served the my roomates friend sitting at my dining room table something to drink. when my roomate came out, he asked me who i was talking to. Apparently, there was no one visiting. I was hallucinating, having a real conversation with someone that didnt exist.

There have been a few other experiences, but the worst one for me was when i got out of bed, called my best friend to let her know i was coming over. She was hanging out with other friends of ours and I actually drove to her house! I dont really remember that night, just flashes here and there but they seem like a dream, and my friend had no idea I had taken my ambien.
I thank God that i made it there and home safely.

It may sound fun and cool, but in reality this is all dangerous. I could've killed myself or someone else driving that night. And I don't know if i have had other nights that i have no evidence of and dont remember.

All this, but it's the only medicine that makes me feel like i slept, the only one i can fall asleep comfortably with. I have become dependant though. I can't sleep if i don't take it.

I know this is a mixed review, but there are pros and cons..
Keep in mind, these things don't happen every night. Most nights I do sleep through the night very well with nothing crazy happening. All this has been throug 3 years of taking it. And it doesn't happen to everyone.
The best thing to do is get advice from your physician and see what works best for you. Sometimes we haveto try a few different sleep aids to know which works for us specifically. For the most part for me, it's Ambien.

Ambien works well
I've been on Ambien for years. It works so well that often I wake up in the same position I went to sleep in. I've tested this to prove it and it's true. I sleep long and hard. However, there is a down side. If I take it and do not go immediately to bed, I can work through it, albeit my typing does suffer as a result. In the beginning I would not remember what I did the night before after taking the pill. I woke up a couple morning to find out that I had made pudding, jello, and steamed rice without remembering until I open the refrigerator. Another down side is that it is addictive. If I don't take the Ambien, I can stay up for 30 to 36 hours and continue to work. I actually need it now to go to sleep. If I stay up all day and all night and then go take a nap the next day without taking a pill, my dreams are so intense that I can not wake up. In my mind I am calling out to someone to come wake me up and get me out of bed. Although I believe I am screaming loudly for help, I am actually not uttering a word. So not I have my boyfriend come in and pull me out of bed, otherwise I can not stop dreaming and can not arise. Intense dreams are not pleasant.
#2 - Gail - 10/15/2008 - 03:02
it works, but it does have side effects
I have been taking ambien for about two years. I have chronic insomnia and ambien is the only thing that consistently helps me fall asleep. I cant sleep at all without it anymore so that probably indicates that it is addictive.
I have does some strange things while on ambien- if I don't go to bed right away I will have bizarre conversations with my boyfriend that I don't remember in the morning. Thats a little scary to me. I sometimes have hallucinations as well. I see people in the bed with me- not really scary or threatening in any way, but I know its not normal.
Its a personal choice- I cant sleep without them so it offsets the other stuff for me.

ambien
i took ambien for about a year and loved it, fall asleep fast and stay asleep, the only side efect that i had was that i would feel drunk before going to bed, i would take it wait a couple of minutes and get up to go to the bathroom and would walk into walls, fall down and slur words, other than that i loved the stuff and would recommend it, i have stoppped taking it because of the cost of prescription drugs, but i am trying to get back on it because nothing else works as well

Ambien
I have been taking Ambien for almost three years every night. It has made a huge change in the way I sleep (soundly). I can't imagine not taking it. My feeling are even if you get addicted it's not as bad as getting ongoing poor restless sleep. I take the CR (continual release), the original just knocked me out sometimes and I'd lose partial memory of the night before. It initially gave me good sleep but after a w hile I wake up occasionally. The CR keeps me asleep all night. The downside, I get no headaches associated with using it as is commonly reported, no sleep walking or any other weird side effects it just sometimes isn't as effective as other times. I also occasionally feel drowsy at times some days, some days not. All in all I am glad I take it, sleeping through the night beats constantly waking up and not being able to go back to sleep then dragging through the day. I strongly recommend it.

ambien
I started taking ambien a couple of weeks ago and it's treated me pretty well... I occasionally fall asleep on the sofa by the tv or something like that but it does put me to sleep. The first time I took it I had some wild hallucinations when my friend asked me to come into his room and listen to his audio project. After that I drank the next night and blackout hallucinated things while talking to my ex girlfriend on the phone for an hour and a half, but after that it's been a lot more normal.
#6 - Clayton - 02/08/2009 - 21:27
ambien
I take ambien every night now since a year ago when my husband passed away and could never fall asleep since. I have never had a bad experience with it and fall asleep in 10 minutes or so, sleep 7 hours or so, wake up feeling great. I sometime cut pill in half to 5 milligrams, not 10 and it works too. I've heard of people having dreams, sleepwalking, etc. but only with the Ambien CR, which I do not take.
#7 - joan - 03/24/2009 - 00:54
ambien
I have been taking ambien for about a year now and I think it is great. It is a good nights sleep for me. I have experienced some side effects like hearing things that are not really happening like thunder and lightning. I also saw my son coming in the door one night and it wasn't anyone there, when I wake up I remember these things and talk to my husband and he says none of this happened. It is a proven fact that it has side effects but I will continue taking it because most of the time I just get a good nights sleep.I have tried over the counter sleep aid and it doesn't work for me.
#8 - maria - 04/03/2009 - 14:19
Ambien
I have been taking Ambien for 14 months. Intwenty minutes
after taking the 10mg pill, I am asleep....don't remember
falling asleep.

I have on occasion, tried not taking one before bedtime, and
always have to finally take one, sometimes hours after trying to fall asleep on my own. My mind keeps me awake.

I have taken half a pill at times, and it seems to work,
although I do not sleep as long as when taking a whole pill.

I would like to stop taking it all together, but, don't
know how to take myself off it.

I heard that it can cause blurriness in the eyes...has
anyone had that happen?

ambien
I have been on and off of ambien for nearly ten years. That may sound like a long time, but it's not that I'm addicted to the actual pill...I'm addicted to getting an actual night of good sleep. I have done some crazy things on ambien (i.e. unremembered phone conversations and the occasional sleep eating if I go to bed starving) but overall i'm good if I take it and go to bed within twenty minutes. It makes a world of difference for me to be well rested every day. Occasionally I have very tired days, but not all the time. I've tried all of the sleeping pills, and ambien seems to be the cheapest and most effective.
#10 - Aubrey - 04/28/2009 - 12:25
Ambien
I've been on Ambien and Ambien CR on and off for three years now. I don't have any hallucinations, but I have noticed that if I take it three to four nights in a row, on the next night I can't fall asleep for hours. And when I finally do fall asleep, I have the strangest dreams. I also sometimes have the feeling of being hung over the next day. It is not a pleasant feeling. I might as well have had a whole bottle of wine. That would make me sleep and I'd wake up with a hangover anyway. I've tried other sleeping pills in the past, but none worked like Ambien. I have to be near the bed or in it when I take a pill cause it knocks me out immediately and I sleep all night. I don't feel like I'm addicted to it, but there are nights I can't sleep without it. I just block it out of my mind and try to go to sleep on my own. If I can't fall asleep for two nights in a row, then I take an Ambien and it never lets me down.
#11 - Landy - 05/03/2009 - 18:52
Ambien
I've been taking Ambien off and on for approximately 5yrs or
more. I haven't had any problems at all, sometimes I have
insomnia and I'll take one, but usually I'll try to go to sleep on my on first. I don't feel groggy or drunk in the morning. I have tried the Ambien CR, didn't work as well as the plain Ambien, I do not take the generic at all, it's something about my body, some generic medications do not work well for me, I rather pay extra for brand name and get
results than pay less and get no results.
Thanks

ambien
I have been on ambien 10mg(1-2pills nightly)since 2005.And yes; they do make you do things that you will not remember the next day. I've cooked full course meals 2,3 oclock in the morning and not remember it at all. I've done things that I would normally not do; and things that I'm too embarrass to mention or admit. But ambien does work. I feel rested; like a full night's sleep after 1 1/2 to 2 hours sleep. I've also experienced that if I do not ly down right after taking ambien, I am awake doing things I know nothing of. And then only flashes of what I've done appear in my mind.(like I dreamt it). Extreme care must be used when taking this medication. Be careful and enjoy.

Maybe I won't remember posting this tomorrow. But I've been taking Ambien for 3 nights and it is a waste of money so far. First night, slept 6 hours straight, no memory of falling asleep, really liked that! Felt sleepy next day, though, napped 3 hours with intense dreams, probably a hold-over from the 15 day Lunesta trial I'd just ended before trying Ambien. So that night, I waited until almost 3 a.m. to take Ambien, not wanting to sleep too much or force unneeded amounts of sleep on my system. Well, I woke next morning around 8 a.m. Got up, energetic all day, no nap or desire for one. Was worried tonight at feeling still so wide awake, but around half past midnight I got tired and took an Ambien. Went to bed 40 minutes later, fell asleep but not a deep sleep, never felt really fully asleep. Woke up at 4 a.m. wide awake. Tried for nearly an hour to go back to sleep, no luck, so took another Ambien, sat in front of TV and waited, then popped into bed, but never got sleepy again, am still up, wide awake, at 6:50 a.m. Oh yeah, and I took a phenergan tablet, too. Nada! Apparently, Ambien is going to be a NO for me. Lunesta was worse, it kept me constantly sleepy, unable to complete a 30-minute physical workout during the day, fearful, moody, with a weird taste in my mouth that seemed to be the very taste of anxiety.

Maybe it's the 300 mg daily Wellbutrin I'm on. They say Wellbutrin can create or worsen insomnia, right?

I'll tell you this. If I ever see anything during the night that isn't there, it will probably be the end of me. I like my ghosties restricted to books, movies, and the History Channel. So wish me luck with that! My Ambien is 10 mg, not the CR which isn't yet available as generic. I can either keep taking Ambien and not sleep, or take nothing and not sleep. Hard to decide after just 3 nights.

ambien
I started taking ambien about 2 weeks ago. It works wonders for me. I am able to sleep for 8 hours straight without moving a muscle! The downside, however, is I often can't remember the night before. Last week, I took an ambien pill and decided to watch T.V. and then eventually fall asleep. Well, I ended up cooking a full meal for me and my girlfriend, ate the meal, and conversated with her for about an hour, and NOT remember one bit of it. That's kinda scary. I guess if you take ambien, my only advice would be to go STRAIGHT to bed. Do not watch T.V. or try to stay awake while you're on it, because you'll do some crazy things haha! It's not a bad thing, but I just don't like the idea of doing something and not remembering it.

ambien cr
I've taken ambien intermittently for 2 years. I finally made myself quit cold turkey this summer. I even threw away 30 pills. I LOVE how quickly and deeply I fell asleep, but......the dreams I had were terrifying, and the next day I would actually feel hostile - not sleepy or hung over - just easily pissed off. Not a good thing when you're teaching children. I find myself wishing for that wonderful feeling of drifting off to sleep - it's best thing about ambien. I just can't live with the side effects. I've also tried lunesta and rozerem -both did nothing for my sleep and gave me horrible headaches. I can take a benadryl - but it slows my breathing down so much that I wake up with a pounding headache. So now I take about 1200 mg of Valerian - it relaxes me somewhat - and I basically take naps all nite - finally fall asleep at 4:30 and wake up at 5:30. I miss being able to lay down and sleep all nite. I never had a problem until my late 40s. I pray this will eventually pass.

Ambien
I took Ambien for the first time last night. A half hour after taking it I began feeling like I was on a boat tossing in waves. Very dis-orienting. I went straight to bed and slept through the night. Today I am in a nasty mood, very agitated. I'm not sure if this is a Ambien hangover or me just having a bad day. After one use it is a little premature to say but I will keep any eye on it.

Ambien (Zolpidem)
I started taking it about 2 months ago. As long as I don't take it every night, it works just fine. Just like many others, I black out and have crazy hallucinations, most of which I don't remember. DO NOT take Ambien with Nyquil (I made this mistake while being sick), as it intensifies Ambien's effects, including the black-outs.

Ambien
I took ambien a few days ago and totally tripped out. I have all these posters in my room, one of the Beatles. Paul McCartney kept yelling at me and at one point pulled out a gun, but it ended up being a bottle of wine he passed to an old couple. For a while I was on a boat talking to a gay couple who designed scarves. The scarves got angry and tried to eat my mom when she came into my room. Not to mention I heard weird music the whole time - it was like a blue grass, Glee club medley. I kept trying to text people, but my phone was rubber and wouldn't stop flopping over my hand.
Not gonna lie. It was pretty rad. Didn't help me sleep though.:-D
