Metabolife Ultra - Is the 'New' Metabolife an Ultra Diet Pill or Just Plain Awful?

Metabolife Ultra - Metabolife is one of the better-known companies when it comes to weight loss. Their original product was effective enough to draw some attention and now they are trying to make some money from being in the spotlight.
It is almost like when movies do sequels that suck, for example, my kids loved the movie “The Land Before Time” it was a well-made movie and did well in theaters. But since the release of the original movie, about 20 sequels have been made that went straight to DVD and they suck!
The original Metabolife was a decent product in its day, but now that it is a bit outdated, the people behind Metabolife have rushed to get new and different products out on the market. But these new products like Metabolife Ultra did not receive the kind of research and development that is necessary to make a good product. They were just rushed out onto the market and they are mild and not very effective.
How Metabolife Ultra “Works”
Metabolife Ultra is intended to be an appetite suppressant. This kind of pill includes those that contain Hoodia and other ingredients that are intended to make your brain think that you are full when you really are not. Metabolife does not contain Hoodia, but rather an ingredient called hydroxycitric acid. The people that make Metabolife Ultra want you to think that this ingredient has been tested and prove to cause weight loss in humans, but it has not. I looked at a study that was done on hydroxycitric acid and published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The test subjects were either given a placebo or hydroxycitric acid and then were subjected to a high-fiber, low-energy diet. There were no significant differences between the test subjects and it could not be determined whether or not hydroxycitric acid actually affects weight loss.
What is wrong with Metabolife Ultra?
Aside from the ingredients being unproven, there are several problems with Metabolife Ultra. And one of the main problems is the amount of caffeine contained in the pills. When you take a pill that suppresses your appetite, you do not eat as much and therefore you will not have as much energy. So different pills try different things to try to give you that energy back. Metabolife Ultra just loads their pills with caffeine. Large amounts of caffeine like those present in Metabolife Ultra can be very detrimental to your overall health. It can raise your blood pressure and make you irritable and jittery. Also, some people drink so much coffee or energy drinks, that they have already developed a kind of resistance to caffeine and they will not receive the essential energy from the pills.
There are some good things about Metabolife Ultra. It is cheap and the website is very easy to navigate and is very informative. But that is not enough to make me buy it.
Bottom line
Metabolife Ultra is based on an ingredient that has not been tested enough and seems to have no effect on real weight loss. It was rushed onto the market to keep up with competitors and it is not worth your money or your time.
