Are there diet pills that we do like? Yes - quite a few actually. When we rate diet pills we look at a variety of factors including: ingredients, customer feedback (which is why we allow you to post your reviews) and the satisfaction guarantee (if there is one). There are a few diet pills that have received extremely high marks across the board, and our favorite is Abidexin. You can go to the official site here. Adipex Diet Pill (Adipex-P)
What is Adipex?
Adipex, or Adipex-P is a sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to an amphetamine. It is also known as an “anorectic” or “anorexigenic” drug. The more common name of Adipex is Phentermine. Phentermine is one of the most popular prescription weight loss pills available. You can get an idea of this by how many Phentermine 'knock-offs' there are. Seriously, last time I counted there were close to 20 different products who have simply misspelled Phentermine and dupe people into thinking it is the real deal. Not so.Phentermine is available only at a pharmacy.
Adipex is used along with a doctor-approved, reduced-calorie diet, exercise, and behavior change program to help you lose weight. It is used in people who are significantly overweight (obese) and have not been able to lose enough weight with diet and exercise alone. Losing weight and keeping it off can reduce the many health risks that come with obesity, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and a shorter life.
How Does Adipex Work?
Adipex stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain), which increases your heart rate and blood pressure and decreases your appetite. It is one of the more effective diet pills available on the market but only with a prescription. That being said, it is not known how Adipex helps people to lose weight. It may work by decreasing your appetite, increasing the amount of energy used by your body, or by affecting certain parts of the brain. This medication is an appetite suppressant and belongs to a class of drugs called sympathomimetic amines.
What is an Amphetamine?
An Amphetamine is a stimulant and an appetite suppressant. It stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain) by increasing the amount of certain chemicals in the body. This increases heart rate and blood pressure and decreases appetite, among other effects.
Does Adipex Have Any Side Effects?
Dizziness, dry mouth, difficulty sleeping, irritability, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation may occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Young adults who abuse amphetamines may be at greater risk of suffering a heart attack. Withdrawal from chronic recreational use of amphetamines can include anxiety, depression, agitation, fatigue, excessive sleeping, increased appetite, psychosis and suicidal thoughts.
Adipex Customer Reviews
"I started this supplement October 29th. The first few days were a little rough for me. I had bad headaches, dizziness, nausea, and low energy. I worked out some kinks. I have to be sure I don't take the medicine on an empty stomach. I usually have a protein bar just before time to take it or just after. The Nausea, headaches and dizziness have subsided and my energy is picking up. I have not weighed in yet but I feel confident that I have lost some weight. This is a good program; I have known several people that have successfully lost weight with it. Just hang in there, the first week may be a little rough but it will get better. Also I have not had any trouble sleeping at night and I feel fabulous in the mornings. I have not overslept since starting the medicine and that is normally a daily thing for me."
"I agree this product will make you drop the pounds. I took it a few years ago to lose weight after having a baby. In 6 weeks I lost 17 lbs. I have gained that wieght back plus more. I've decided to try it again. I have so much energy I can't sit still. The down side is I can't concentrate. I'm very moody. I can't fall asleep for at least an hour after going to bed. Sometimes I can feel my heart beating to fast. If I don't start showing serious weight loss I may stop taking it because of all the side effects."
"I've been taking Adipex for about 3 weeks now and I'll tell you I have more energy and my appetite has decreased dramatically. I am able to stay on my 1400 calorie a day diet without any hunger pangs. I don't know how much weight I've lost yet, but my co-workers say they see it. I just know I'm not going to stop until I reach my goal of 200 lbs by my 50th birthday...January, 2009. I started out weighing 276 lbs."
How much is Adipex?
A 30 day supply of 60 37.5mg tablets retails for $159. Ouch! Don't let the fact that it is a prescription drug fool you. In recent months the prescription turned non-prescription drug Orlistat has become available in the form of Alli - which has become one of the most poopular, I mean popular diet pills ever.
Adipex Conclusion
Adipex is a strong weight loss pill that was designed for the morbidly obese. If you have between 10-50 pounds to lose, you probably don't fall into that category. The long-term side effects of Adipex are pretty serious. There are plenty of Adipex alternatives available and would consider using one of those safer alternatives before taking a chance on Adipex.

side effects except dry mouth, i dont have alot of energy either and why i dont know. When i want a snack i get raw carrots and sometimes fat free yogurt. I am hapy with the med and i want to get back down to about 135.I do have my blood pressure ck'd by my doctor once a month suppose to go in and than i will get another refill on my script, just wanted to say GOOD LUCK TO ALL
I use to be a person where I wouldn't leave the table until my food was gone and would go back for 2nd, 3rd, even 4ths. Man could I eat! I could do a Large pizza all on my own, NO PROBLEM. The other night at dinner we had chicken strips... My meal came with 5 strips... I gave one to my sister, ate one and three went home in a doggy bag.. that would have NEVER happened before prior to Adipex.
My right eyes been twitching since yesterday, is there a connection or just a coincidence?
I am 21 years old, with two little boys 20 months apart. I gained 80 lbs with the first baby, and I did not lose any weight due to severe post partum depression. I got pregnant with my second child at 209lbs and when I had him I weighed 254lbs.
My poor body ( size 2 120lbs) all through HS could not handle the weight.
I lost about 30 lbs on my own after my second son... breast feeding really helped. But... I was still overweight and could barely keep up with my 2 year old.
I went to my doctor and started the weight loss program. I have been on adipex for 3 months now and I have lost 60 lbs. I have been strictly eating HEALTHY... and working out. My goal is to get back to what I use to be!
I drink almost a gallon of water everyday because I do not want my skin to be loose and saggy. I am suprised my skin has retracted back the way it has.
My Pros
I have to remind myself to eat.
My temptations for sweets.. are no longer there.
I have alot of energy.
Cons
I think this is one of the most talked about side effects.. difficulty sleeping...
Thank goodness for ambien!
This is the first time I have ever used a diet pill, and I was a little nervous, but I have not had any bad side affects. I have been a size 5-7 all my life, and when I had my first child I gained 70lbs and have not gone down to my normal weight of 130-140. SO the results have been awesome. I eat so little now and I exercise 4-5x a week just walking 40-60min a time. I was 164 when I started and now I am 158. I can't believe how this pill works. The wieght is finally coming off.I hope it works for you too. If we can just change our eating habits we would never need to use a pill that could have some long term side affects. GOOD LUCK
I started Adipex yesterday (6-26-09)and am pleased to say that I LOVE this pill!! I am down 5 lbs. in one day. I know that it is water weight but that is fine with me! I went to the DR. on 6-25-09 which happened to be my youngests 6th bday and when I was weighed I had a realty check that I weigh the same that day as the day she was born - 229. I never had trouble loosing weight before, I was back to pre baby weight six months after I had her but the last few years the weight kept creeping back on. I tried WW a few times and many other numerous ways to loose weight and would only loose about 10 lbs. and stop loosing. My DR told me that diet pop should be cut out completely because of the artifical sweetner prevents you from loosing weight. I thought that this would be a problem for me (I would drink a 2 liter of diet pop a day +) but while on Adipex all I want is water! Yes the dry mouth is a nuisance but I am fine with it because all you want is water. I used to think about food all the time and I now I dont even think about it. Just remember that you can not take this forever so while on it change your eating habits and exercise so after the 3 months of taking this it will be easier.
I had great energy and no appetite . I slept fine . I'm presently on blood pressure meds and floxatine (prosac).I want to get one month supply . Can anyone tell me if this is safe . My friend said she could get them for me .
Good luck! All hope is not lost!;-)
p.s
i started at 166 and in mid may/june i was at 132
im 24 years old
the past year went by extreamly fast, its worth stretching out the weight loss rather than rapidly getting it done ! ;-)
Good luck to all, keep the success stories coming and GET SKINNY~
:-D
The first day that I went to see the doctor he did a weight, water, and fat test, and told me what my metabolism was, and he explained everything to me, I am to take 1 adipex ever day, and gave me a diary to log in my foods, and it is different for everyone bc everyone's metabolism is at a different rate.
My food diary, states that I can have for the follow;
Breakfast: 1 grain, 1 fruit, and 1 dairy which should equal 200 calories. and I also have to log in the fat grams for each meal.
Lunch: 1 grain, 2 meats, 1 veg, 1 fruit, 1 fat. = 400 calories or a lean cuisine, weight watchers, or healthy choice.
Dinner: 1 grain, 2 meats, 1veg, 1fat, or 1 lean cuisine, weight watchers, or healthy choice = 500 calories.
1 grain = 1/2 cup of anything, like potatoes, pasta, rice, 1 slice of bread.
1 meat = 1 oz of meat
1 veg is 1/2 cook, 1 cup raw. 1/3 cup of juice.
1 fruit is one small piece of fruit, or 1/3 cup of juice.
1 dairy, 1 cup of milk, or 1 nonfat yogurt.
1 fat, 1 tsp of salad dressing, or miracle whip, or mayonaise. or 1 tbsp of lite, diet, low cal, salad dressing, miracle whip, or mayonaise.
and you can have unlimited salad, I usually use nonfat salad dressing.
8-8 oz of water, or crystal lite, diet soda, water, kool-aid with sweetner, and any liquids as long as you liquid in take does not exceed 100 calories per day.
so all in all this is a 1200 calorie diet.
Exercise is 30 wall push ups, 30 lunges, 30 crunches, and 30 side leg lifts.
He told me not to do any aerobics, unless I am preparing to join the Olympics, and work on toning so that it helps with any lose skin while you are losing the weight, exspecially on any troubled areas that I think would have lose skin like my belly.
to be honest with you I came home I started the next day after I had seen him, I did aerobics everyday any where from 30 - 60 mins, and 1 hr of toning working every muscle in from head to toe.
When I was talking to a friend, who had much success with the diet in the first place and was encouraged by her weight loss to try this out for myself. She told me to stop doing aerobics and do exactly what the doctor told me to, because this is what she done. I stop the aerobics, and I swear to you I felt like I lost my 5 lbs this is it, and as soon as I stop the aerobics I lost 3 more lbs.
although I dont do the aerobics no more I use all that energy I get from the adipex to clean my house, I am cleaning everything, so I am glad that I am investing the energy into everything else, I mean my house was always clean, but now it is immaculent, so I use all my energy making every really nice for my family.
I read someone on here doesn't like to cook anymore, I love to cook even still, I just look for healthier food to make for me as well as my family.
my side affects are dry mouth, which works with me because I have to drink the water, constipation, and I just take a colace before I go to bed, and that solves the problem.
My first day on it, I felt very gittery and shaking, I just layed down on my bed and watched a little tv and it subsided, after that I was good no more gitters, just a lot of energy, and I sleep fine, I think it because I am so busy thoughout the day it wears me out by the evening.
I too was having trouble losing weight, but now that I am 9 days in I have lost 8 lbs, the doctor wanted me lose 10 lbs when I go back and seem him, which will be every two weeks. I dont think I will have any trouble losing the 2 more pounds. I am very excited that I finally found something to help me get this extra weight off.
I would say to anyone trying this, make sure you are seeing a doctor and he is perscibing this to you, and is monitoring everything while you are on this medication.
and to some of the people here who has gained weight back, you can not go back to old eatting habits or you will gain the weight back, you have to take 1 pill per day, not half, that is the reason for the headaches. you have to follow a sensible diet, you do have to do some body toning.
I cant wait to see what tomorrow brings, my clothes are getting loser, I now have got into a pair of jeans that I haven't wore in a while, and as the weight goes down, the self esteem and feeling good about myself is going up.
I do know that my doctor said 3 months on the adipex, 3 months off, and then he gives something else equivent to it called metabosurge, then 3 more months on the adipex.
I would tell anybody to be careful when buy online, because there is so many scams out here, and they may send you something that looks the same but could be a sugar pill, instead of the real deal.
Good luck everyone I do hope everything I wrote helps someone out there, and I wish all of you the best of luck, and I hoping all of you will wish me the best of luck as well with this weight loss. I will be checking out this site when I get the chance to read some more stories, so thank you for sharing, and for letting me share what I have learned.
Best of luck to all of you!
Christine
I have now stopped taking it and about 5 days has went by.Im just now not having chest pains anymore.
Has anyone else had this to happen?I was so excited about losing weight and now Im so upset.
My question: has anyone experienced excessive overall body sweating? I am embarrassed by how much I sweat at the gym! I'm still sweating 30 minutes after class! No one wants to be near me during workouts!
Anyone else with this problem? Is it related to the Adipex?
I will admit I am taking a anabolic mild steroid called Anavar. My doctor is aware. I was honest when I asked for Adipex. My muscle mass is awesome but belly core fat not so much. I hardly eat and I work out and do my best to lose weight. So far I've gained 7 lbs. I dont understand unless its muscle gain..but even on top of that.."my belly fat (the core) isn't disappearing..Atleast not to me. Help? Suggestions!:-[]
I followed doc's instructions totally...I did get the dry mouth--and that's it. I have lost my cravings, no shakes, no depression, and no problems with sleep. The doc who gave the Rx to me stated that I may or may not have issues with the perscription. She even gave me her personal cell phone to contact her in any case of emergency or even if I couldn't sleep. That in itself was impressive so buying the weight loss program was a very positive decision.
I have lost over 15 pounds, however, through my own desires to have a brownie (or nibble here and there) that caused me to plateau. I haven't fallen off the wagon so, I am still motivated to keep going. I am also doing the Lipo-BC shots 2 times per week. I go to the gym 4-5 times a week as well. It all works together--you just can't "eat just because you know it's in the kitchen" nor can you go crazy with the food because your on a diet pill. You will lose weight, you do lose your appetite. You gain self-confidence and a better, healthier outlook on your life. When you feel good about yourself and what you look like--it all meshes together with a better life for YOU. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS. The big picture is achievable if you don't give up, even if you do have a small piece of that brownie.. good luck to all--
If you decide to discontinue taking this pill, you have to do it slowly. Ther will be side affects if you don't.If you aren't careful you will gain your weight back.
I was off it for about 45 days no side effects/ I still lost a poound here and there. But you have to control your meal portions once you stop taking adepex.
Good Luck to everyone
Tammy B-)
GOOD LUCK!!
fyi:
Iam also taking b12 injections every week. I go to a clinic near I live and its 15 per week for the shot! The nurse said it also has fat burner mixed in but it gives me lots of energy!! and when I need a refill on my pills with my shot its 35 dollars! For the prescription to get filled its 10 bucks! So idk might seem alot to some but others it might be cheaper! but It works for me! I love it! Hope this helps
I became very depressed. I am trying the pills again starting yesterday.
I wanted to follow up and make a few comments to those taking Adipex. I started the pill back in January 2010 along with the Mayo diet. I lost about 20 lbs that month. I countine the pills for 2nd month a little less strict diet and lost another 10lbs. I started to slip up and gained a few pounds back but for the most part with a balanced diet and limited sweets. I have kept most of the weight off. I started this diet at 195 lbs. As of Sept 2010 I decided to try the pills again and lost 10 lbs already. Weighing in at 158 this morning. The pills work but you have to stick to a low fat low car low cal diet. You don't have to be that detailed but you need to watch what you eat limited the sweets and carbs. Do at least 2 weeks of cardio to help burn and get your body in the habit of working out and you'll do fine. I do believe the smaller you are the less effective the pills are 140 maybe to small to be taking diet pills so keep that in mind. I am 5"3 so when I started the pills my BMI considered me obese. If you have 50+ lbs to lose these pills should work. Learn to understand when your metabloism is actually working and when it is not. I can physically feel the different even before I get on the scale. MOST DAYS!! LOL
I also found that this medication seems to work well at controlling my ADHD and I am able to focus on lengthy tasks without being distracted.
My heart has also been checked out several times and I have not had any complications. My blood pressure is also always really good. I have used this medication under a doctor's watch each time.
Mississippi: How has the Adipex worked for you? I am curious since we are about the same in height & weight starting off.
I had to take a kinesiology class as a requirement for my degree, so I figured wy not take something that will be worth it dont waste my time with something stupid and unless as a bowling class. So I took fitness for life which about to like kill me my first two weeks we had to rotate all machines every 15 minutes so there was no let me just walk on the treadmill for an hour. Stair master and the eliptical about to like kill me! my legs were shakey and I thought I would drop as I got off and was sometimes scared to even attempt getting for feel my legs would give out from under me, after time I got used to it after 4 months of taking the class I lost 10 lbs and accomplishment right? nope I felt as though I had wasted my time and money and the only thing that came out of it was that I passed the class and got my 1 credit. I worked so hard to lose that way and while I felt a little bit better energy wise 10 lbs was not much at all. I weighed 280 lbs when I took the class leaving me at around 270 lbs. the class ended in Decmeber 2010 just in time for the wonderful holiday treats!!!! I continued the excercise and really am not so into sweets so when I went to the doctor on January 10th and discovered I had gained 6 lbs back I cried all the way home when I left there. They had made me feel like when I went in to the doctors office that was all I wanted was the meds and it wasnt in my case the doctor who prescribed the Adipex is my gynocologist and I had actually went in at first to be disgnosed with PCOS. Whwn they had seen I had gained back six lbs and didnt prescribe me the medicine I cried all the way back home and even went home and layed in bed and cried there for awhile too thinking how come I cant get anyone to help me???? I have never been thin and have probably been overweight since I was about 10 or 11 years old, I am now 31 and my goodness! there is a problem when you have tried for 21 years to lose weight and you just simply can not. I called the doctor the next day and figured whats the worse he can do? say no? ridicule me for asking? two days later I finally got my reponse from him and he called in the prscription. I started actually taking the medicine on January 15 and I went from 276lbs to 262 in the last 11 days of taking it. I have not done nothing different in fact I been so busy at work and with my kids I havent even really had time for much exercising I really plan on starting my excercise plan again within a day or so and cant wait to see where it takes me. A girl that works with me is the one that recommended this doctor to me. She weighed 275 lbs a year in a half ago and now wieghs 162. I think I was probably no joke 162 lbs when I was about 11 or 12. Good luck everyone just dont abuse it! I read some of the stories above about people who weigh 160 lbs but want to weigh 150?? that is not what this medicine is intended for it is to help serious weigh issues and 10lbs is not a serious weight issue that is one of the reasons why it is so hard to find doctors to prescribe it for people who really need it.
but i have to remember to eat because when i am cleaning up the house before i go to wk i have to keep an eye on the clock to make sure i eat 2 hrs after the pill because i am not hungry...I read a lot of reviews where people have said that the pill has stopped wking but what i have found out is it has not stopped wking your body is ajusting..Its like when you hit a plateu your body is trying to ajust to the changes it is going through..so i say just cont. to take on an empty stomach early when you rise in the morning and your body will start excepting what you are doing..ok im gone till next ck up..:}
Also, I haven't been exercising and my water consumption is not where it should be. I am going to step both of these into high gear. My mother says she can already see a change in my face. That's good, but I will be glad when I can see a change in my clothes and in my gut! I will keep you posted.
OH, one more thing. I haven't had the energy that many users of the pill talk about. This could be because I am not taking a large enough dose. I called my doctor to ask about it and I was told that, like any medication, it affects everyone differently. Increase of energy just doesn't seem to be one of my side affects. Oh well, you can't have everything!
i have just started adipex yesterday and so far so good. i take the pill at 6a.m and then i drink a slim fast for breakfast, cause i hate eating solids in the early morning. then around 9 i eat a special k bar. then around 12:30 i eat a leancousine meal which lunch is my big meal for the day. then later in the day when i get a hungry feeling i eat a nutru grain bar. for dinner i ate cinn cheerios. i am on a 1,000 cal diet and drink the min of 100oz of water a day. i do not drink any soda. i am learning to eat so when i get off it will stay off. i am 5'8 weighing 233lbs. i need to lose 90lbs. i feel a little smaller already well since i quit drinking soda and started more water a week ago. i am not bloated anymore. and for the people taking adepix that are not eating but 1 meal a day is just stupid thing to do. you will lose nothing that way. your body will just store everything in that 1 meal you do it and your resting calorie level will go way down. i wonder if some of these people just order them off line without a doc. you have to eat right and continue to eat right after you get off to see a weight change. exercise is always a plus. i walk 1 1/2-2 miles every other day. i will post my weight when i go in for my check up on monday.
After my fouth week, my scheduld changed and all of the food temptations were right in front of me. So for three weeks I went crazy and ate a small breakfast, but I lost all control at lunch. I stuffed my face and my waistline. I also over indulged in cookies and other desserts. By the time I got home from work, I was full, but I still ate the food that I cooked for my family.
So, when Aug. 15th came, and the three weeks that followed of eating out of control, I ended up gaining 6 pounds back. BUT, during that time, I was finally able to recognize the weight loss in my clothes. So, now I am currently weighing 153 pounds. I kept about 10 pounds off of my 5'3" frame and I do feel better. My tight clothes now fit loose, but not loose enough to buy a new wardrobe.
I think that I will follow my self-prescribed regiment for another month in October. If I can lose another 15 pounds and keep at least 10 of them off, I will be satisfied.
Also, please note, I did not work out regularly and I am horrible at drinking the suggested amount of water. I know that IF I had done those two things, I would have seen far greated weight loss. I am not promising that I will do these things next time, but I do know that I need these elements in my weight loss plan.
p.s. The reason I chose to reduce my dosage so drastically is because I am a person who does not take medicine for anything and I don't take in any substances, legal or otherwise, to "stimulate" me. No caffeine, no energy drinks, no pop or soda. My worse enemy is SUGAR. Even my desire for sugar was overtaken when I was taking the pill.
Hope this was helpful.
Angela
GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WE CAN DO IT!!!!
