The Glucofast website boast the heading "Can't Lose Weight, It's Not Your Fault!". Come on, if I can't take accountability for my weight, and the choices that got me to the point where my body is right now, who will? Glucofast's claims that it was "developed and designed to promote extreme and rapid weight loss by attacking insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome."
Claims and marketing hype aside, let's get down to the nitty gritty and take a look at the ingredients found in Glucofast.
L-Carnitine - This supplement is responsible for the transport of fatty acids from the cytosol into the mitochondria , where it is then burned as energy.
Alpha Lipoic Acid ( ALA ) - ALA is an anti-oxidant that is being studied in animals and in humans as a preventive and/or treatment for many age-related diseases. The main benefits of ALA are that it is an anti-oxidant and that it helps detoxify the liver.
Vanadyl Sulfate - A common supplement in the body building circle. Vanadyl Sulfate has been shown to increase the insulin in the body to help breakdown sugars that are linked to weight gain and turn those sugars into energy and increase your metabolic rate. Remember these effects are shown in body builders and people who have a very active lifestyle. If you are looking to drop some serious weight, my guess your lifestyle isn't too active, and you won't see these benefits.
Chromium Chelate - This ingredient is mainly used as an appetite suppressant. If you eat less, you lower your caloric intake, you exercise, you lose weight. That's my thought process on appetite suppressants in a nut shell. I must warn you, if you take too much Chromium Chelate, it will give you really bad, stinky gas.
The only issue that I have with Glucofast is that they don't tell you how much of each ingredient is found in each pill. It is like they are trying to hide something. If I had a diet pill I would want to show that my pill had 'x' amount of 'y' ingredient, but they don't do that. That leads me to believe that the amount must be really small. If there was a lot they would want to show it off. Maybe it is the conspiracy theorist coming out in me, but if I am buying a product, show me what is in it so that I know that I am getting and paying for.
Overall, the product is average. There are so many other diet products that have the same ingredients and the company tells you how much of each ingredient is in each serving. If it was me, I would go with one of those diet pills like glucopsyll appetite suippressant.
