According to a recent report, 2/3 of all hoodia used in diet supplements is not real south african hoodia. Even if a company, such as Nuphedrine, promises you a "certificate of authenticity", anybody can cook one of those up, slap shiny gold star on it and claim it is certified. Certified by who? Exactly.
After visiting the Nuphedrine website you can tell that these guys are in love with Hoodia Gordonii and Advantra-Z. What they fail to tell you, and what you will find plastered all over the web is that Hoodia Gordonii is one of the most over-hyped dietary supplements of all time! No clinical studies, no scientific proof that it has any effect on weight loss.
Nuphedrine's "Before & After" Pictures
I spent the bulk of my time looking at the "Before and After" pics of people that allegedly used Nuphedrine to lose a significant amount of weight. After closer examination I noticed a few things. Apparently Donny lost 21 pounds using Nuphedrine. In his before pic he's pushing his stomach out as hard as he possibly can. In the After pic, he's pulled his stomach in and flexing. These pictures were probably taken within a few minutes of each other.
"Nyla" apparently lost 41 pounds using Nuphedrine. In her before pic she's walking along toward the camera and looks a little bit on the hefty side. In the after pic of "Nyla" we don't get to see her whole face, the top half is cut off. You only get to see her nose, mouth, and half of her right eye. Now she's in a bikini playing with her hair and she looks supermodel-esque. Nyla Before and Nyla After are not the same person. It's painfully obvious.
A few more Nuphedrine success story examples: Maritza's before pic looks like it came from a stock photo website. The after pic shows girl with the same hair color (again, in a bikini). You don't get a good look of the after photo because there are two other girls in the way. If it is the same girl, not showing half of her makes it easy to give the appearance of weight loss. My guess is that they're not even the same girl. The after photo isn't close enough to show her face in detail, and the before pic has her looking to the left, so you don't get the same angle. Martiza is most likely a complete a lie.
Marti is next. The before pic shows an overweight woman wearing a peach-colored shirt. The after-pic shows a very slender woman, very tan, also with blonde hair, and probably about the same age as the before pic. The only problem is that the after pic is taken from such a distance that you can't really tell if it's the same person. My guess? It's not. Nuphedrine just threw that up there to misrepresent consumers.
The really disgusting thing about this whole thing is that Nuphedrine says above each picture "these are real success stories people report about Nuphedrine every day!" No they're not. If I had a couple hours to spare, I could find all of these photos on istockphoto.com.
Nuphedrine's Ingredients
Advantra-Z®: A patented form of synephrine or citrus aurantium. Synephrine is often advertised as the "chemical cousin" of ephedra. Synephrine has replaced the ephedra content of many popular fat burners. Retailers claim synephrine offers all the "fat burning" benefits of ephedra without any of the potentially life threatening side effects such as sleeplessness, jitters and elevated blood pressure and heart rate.
Hoodia Gordonii 'could' be a decent supplement, but there are 2 minor issues.
Lack of clinical evidence: There is no credible, clinical evidence that hoodia suppresses hunger. Will this change? I am sure some lab out there is conducting a test on Hoodia, but even if there was any clinical evidence, there is a small problem. Hoodia is an endangered species. (African Hoodia - but Mexican and Chinese Hoodia isn't)
According to ConsumerLab.com (an online company that tests product label claims for accuracy) "It has been speculated that there is more hoodia being sold today than could possibly be made from all the Hoodia gordonii plants in existence."
Here is another link that claims that 2/3 of hoodia in dietary supplements is totally fake. Not looking good Nuphedrine.
Nuphedrine Conclusion
The consensus among nutritionists is that hoodia is over-rated and over-hyped. Still people claim that it has helped them lose weight. Do supplements contain real hoodia? I am not too sure. Nuphedrine's blend of ingredients is average. There are tons of more effective supplements available.

I tried to get my money back but no luck.
I am very skeptical of this product, just because after reviewing the Before and After photos I noticed that "Yes" they really are fakes. Nyla for example when her picture was first taken, her hair was shorter 1/2 a inch, after she lost all the weight her hair suddenly grew 14 inches longer. It is clear that this is not the same person. Second to loose that much weight so fast would have to leave unsightly stretch marks, Nyla's after picture (showing her thin) was like perfect!! she showed no loose or saggy skin anywhere on her body. This is a little hard to believe, for me at least...I say it all a really BAD SCAM!! IF THEY WILL LIE ABOUT THEIR BEFORE AND AFTER PHOTOS...WHAT ELSE WILL THEY LIE ABOUT!! (This company shoud not be trusted) To be honest I was serioulsy considering buying the product before coming to my conclusion, because I was so desperate to loose 20lbs...until I spoke to the customer service rep at Nuphedrine, and was shocked by the way he represented himself he was silly, and un-professional, and absolute joke. He couldn't provide me with any solid concrete answers to my questions about the product and the company. He was very evasive, he kept telling me that someone would return my call with the information I requested, but no representative at Nuphedrine ever returned my call!! This company is just very bizarre, and too shady to be trusted, especially with your health. I just had a very bad intuition about the product from the start but was desperate, however I decided not to buy based on the company's un-professionalism and crapy B/A photos.
After reading some of the other reviews of how poor this product, by people who have tried it, I feel deeply sadden. I hope more attention is brought to this Nuphedrine SCAM before others are suckered in.

Ya know, I lost all that weight by the help of Ephedra. If it wasn't for the FDA and other agencies taking it off the market, more people could have the opportunity to lose weight easier and faster, though there's those who medically can not take stimulant derived weight loss supplements. I only got the jidders once from the Ephedra, and it was because I'd had 2 cups of coffee prior to taking it. *sigh* it was a great thing during it's short life.
