Well let's cut the crap, look past all of the marketing hype and take a look at what the ingredients are in SmartBurn.

• Calcium, Chromium and Potassium Blend - There is no hard evidence on the effects of Calcium and Potassium when used as a weight loss supplement. Chromium on the other hand has a positive effect on the bodies insulin function, which aids in weight loss. Unfortunately, the amount of Chromium in this product is not sufficient enough to have any sort of impact.
• Garcinia Cambogia Extract (Citrimax) - Another ingredient that hasn't shown that it aids in weight loss. Because it hasn't shown any results, a newer version of this compound is in development, called SuperCitrimax.
• Roseroot - Similar to ginseng, roseroot has been shown to boost energy.
• Gymnema Sylvestre Extract - Studies are still being done on the fat burning effectiveness of Gymnema. It claims to reduce the absorption of blood glucose into the intestines.
• Astaxanthin - A common anti-oxidant. The dosage in Smartburn is so minimal that it will do absolutely nothing.
• Theanine - This is the amino acid that is extracted from Green Tea. In correct dosages it may lower blood sugar levels. Unfortunately like so many other ingredients in this product, Theanine is just dressing.
• Hoodia - Hoodia has been shown to be a decent appetite suppressant.
• Green Tea - Green Tea is essential for any good fat burner, but Smartburn does not contain an effect amount.
• N-Acetyl Tyrosine - Tyrosine has been shown to have a positive effect on the mood people are in.
• Vinpocetine - Any positive effects that this ingredient has is pure speculation. The hope is that it may increase metabolism.

All the ingredients in Smartburn listed above are commonly found in many fat burners, just in greater amounts. There is nothing that is gender specific, that benefits males over females or vice versa. The only ingredient in Smartburn that allows them to justify the "for women" angle that they use is the addition of soy phospholipids.

• Soy Phospholipids - In high dosages, this ingredient can be used to prevent osteoporosis, reduction of menstrual symptoms, and prevent hot flashes. Unfortunately, I would wager that there is not an effective amount included in Smartburn, that is why they don't tell us how much is actually there.

Overall, Smartburn contains some decent ingredients, but there is a recurring common theme. There simply isn't enough of any key ingredient to make this an effective diet pill. The ingredients are just spread too thin.

I hate this pill it realy made me sick and I only had it for 3 days I felt sooo dizy every time i would take it i would have to go lay down and I was so tired. not a good pill.

I USED SMART BURN FOR OVER A YEAR. I DID HAVE POSITIVE AND LARGE WEIGHT LOSS RESULTS WITH EXERCISE AND DIET. BUT, I DID DEVELOP BREASE CANCER IN ONE BREAST AS A RESULT OF USING THE PRODUCT. Smart Burn

I'm currently 15, and was 13 when I started using Smart Burn. I was well aware that the product was for users over the age of 18, but I was desperate. By 7th grade my weight had reached 200lbs.
